Connecting up the RTU

Description of the connectors and technical specifications
For a description connectors and connectable devices, refer to the section Interfaces and
connectors (Page 43).
You will find the terminal sizes, maximum torque and technical details of the connectors in
the section Technical data (Page 261).
Order of the work
Note
Connection only with power off
1. First wire all the connectors of the RTU.
2. Turn the power supply on only after the RTU has been completely wired and connected.
Connecting the antenna (XR1A1)
If you use communication via mobile wireless, connect the antenna to the SMA socket of the
RTU.
Protect the antenna connector with a suitable overvoltage protection module if you install the
antenna outdoors. See section Grounding and overvoltage protection (Page 60) for
information on this.
An antenna cable is not supplied with the device. You will find the compatible antenna in the
appendix Antenna ANT794-4MR (Page 283).
Connecting up the digital inputs X20 ... X23
You can connect two sensors to each of the 4 terminal blocks of the digital inputs. In total, up
to 8 sensors can be connected.
Assignment of the contacts based on the example of terminal block X20 for digital outputs 0
and 1:
● M Reference potential for inputs 0 and 1
● 0
● 1
The terminal blocks X21 .. X23 are assigned accordingly, for digital inputs 2...7.
