X11: Output for controlling and supplying sensors and switches
X11 is an output for controlling an external router or for controlling and supplying sensors
and switches of actuators connected to the RTU.
X11 can be configured in the WBM as a 12/24 V control output. The voltage value for X10
and X11 (12 or 24 V) can be configured.
X11 is a regulated control output with a two pin terminal. On X11, voltage is only applied
during the update cycles and only when this is configured.
X11 is not designed for the power supply of powerful actuators. Remember the maximum
permitted power in the section Technical data (Page 261).
Configuring the inputs / outputs
The individual connectors X20... / X30... / X40... are activated and configured in the WBM
(active / not active):
● X20 .. X23: 8 digital inputs
The first two inputs (DI0, DI1) can be configured as counter inputs.
● X30 .. X31: 4 digital outputs
● X40 .. X43: 4 analog inputs
The input and output properties such as signal type, measuring range etc. are configured in
the WBM.
X20 .. X23: Digital inputs / counter inputs
The eight connectors X20 .. X23 are intended for the two signal wires of the sensors. They
can also be used to monitor an external router.
The sensors can be supplied with voltage via the connectors X10 or X11 of the RTU.
The digital inputs are designed as Schmitt trigger inputs with a pull-up resistor. They can be
switched via open drain transistors, relays or switches.
When closed, no current is used at the inputs. This means that the current consumption of
the RTU does not depend on whether sensors with NO or NC contacts are connected.
The two inputs DI0 and DI1 can be configured alternatively as counter inputs (max. 5 kHz).
X30 .. X31: Digital outputs
The four connectors are intended for the control inputs of actuators or relays. They can also
be used to control an external router.
When necessary, actuators can be supplied with voltage via the control outputs X10 or X11
of the RTU.
The digital outputs are designed as bistable relays that retain their current status even in the
sleep mode of the RTU.. In the open status, no current flows by the two terminals of the
individual outputs.
