4.11 Maintenance
● Run a restart
When restarting, existing connections are interrupted and cyclic processing stops. The
RTU restarts.
● Reset to factory settings
Resets the RTU to the factory settings. During this all parameters are reset to the initial
statuses as shipped and the RTU restarts.

Effects of resetting to factory settings
When you reset to factory settings, almost all the data on the RTU is deleted. Among other
things, the following are deleted:
● User names and passwords
● PIN of the SIM card being used
● Diagnostics buffer
● All configuration data, including preset configuration data on the SD card
The following are not deleted:
● Configuration files saved manually on the SD card
● Log files on the SD card
Note
RTU not reachable via the mobile wireless network
After resetting to factory settings, the RTU can no longer be reached via the mobile wireless
network.
If an SD card is plugged in, the following are also deleted:
● The automatically saved configuration file default.cfg
● The diagnostics buffer file
After the reset the RTU is restarted.
Following startup the RTU can only be reached via the Ethernet interface with the address
data preset in the factory, refer to the section Address data of the RTU (Page 80).
