Time-of-day synchronization
● Active
Enable the option if the time of day of the RTU is to be synchronized.
● Synchronization method
You can enable synchronization of the RTU time of day , according to one of the following
methods.
When you enable the telecontrol function the option "By telecontrol master" is adopted
automatically.
– NTP
– By mobile wireless network
– By telecontrol master
NTP settings
● Interface
Select the interface via which the RTU will be synchronized.
● IP address or DNS name of the NTP server
Assign the address of the NTP server.
● Accept time of day from non-synchronized NTP servers
If the option is enabled, the RTU also accepts the time-of-day from non-synchronized
NTP servers with stratum ≥ 15.
If the option is disabled, the time-of-day of the RTU is not set by NTP servers with stratum
≥ 15. In this case the RTU uses the last accepted time of day.

The RTU supports the SNTP (Simple Network Time Protocol) method.
If you want to use this option, make sure that the specified NTP server can be reached
via the relevant interface.
The time-of-day synchronization method SNTP with which you access a time-of-day
server in the network can also be used with OpenVPN.
The RTU adopts the time of day from the mobile wireless network.
The RTU supports the NITZ (Network Identity and Time Zone) service on the wireless
interface. Check with your network provider to find out whether this function is
supported in your mobile wireless network.
The RTU adopts the time of day from the communications partner (telecontrol server
or master).
