System time
In this tab, you configure the time and time-of-day synchronization of the RTU.
Note
Time-of-day synchronization
With applications that require time-of-day synchronization, you should synchronize the time
of day of the RTU. If you do not synchronize the time of day of the RTU regularly, there may
be deviations of several seconds a day between the time of day of the RTU and the time-of-
day of the master station.

Settings with the ST7 and IEC protocols
If you use a partner with daylight saving time changeover, you should select the following
settings for the RTU:
• Specify a time zone.
• Select the "Automatic daylight saving time switch" option.
As the synchronization method, the option "By the telecontrol master" is the default
The RTU then adopts the time of day from the partner. The partner calculates the time offset
of the daylight saving time from the time stamps of the data frames received from the RTU.

Set the time zone in which the RTU is located either by entering it manually or selecting
an entry from the drop-down list.
● Automatic daylight saving time switch
If you sent the time zone manually, you can enable the automatic changeover of daylight
saving time and standard time and set the parameters for this.
● Enable time-of-day synchronization
By enabling the option, you enable synchronization of the RTU time of day.
The time of day is synchronized each time the RTU changes to communication mode.
As an option, at the bottom of this WBM page you can set the time of day of the RTU
manually or adopt it from the configuration PC.
