4.17 Operating mode
Sleep mode
● Turn on mobile wireless interface regularly and check for receipt of wake-up SMS
message?
Using the drop-down list, you specify whether the RTU dials into the mobile wireless
network in addition to the communication cycle to fetch any existing SMS messages. The
following options are available:
– No
– 10 Minutes .. 24 h
– Check permanently
● Start time of checking cycle
Time at which the checking cycle begins. Afterwards the checking cycles take place
according to the setting of the parameter above.
Service mode
● Duration
Using the drop-down list, you specify how long the RTU remains in service mode after
pressing the "WKUP" button.
When the last user has logged out of the WBM, the Service mode is ended earlier.
In service mode the LAN interface and the LEDs are enabled.
Note
Power consumption
Note that in Service mode the power consumption of the RTU increases considerably.

Logging

You will find the naming conventions of the log files in the section SD card (Page 91).

Selecting the check box turns on logging. A further requirement is a plugged in SD card.
● Log file creation
Here you specify the cycle in which new log files are created: Daily, weekly, monthly

The RTU does not turn on the mobile wireless interface between the communication
cycles.
Check cycle in which the RTU books into the mobile wireless network to fetch SMS
messages.
The RTU remains permanently booked into the mobile wireless network. Only with this
setting can the RTU accept wake-up calls in sleep mode.
