Removing and replacing consumable and structural parts
Replacement of consumable and structural parts is your responsibility. If IBM
installs a consumable or structural part at your request, you will be charged for the
installation.
Note: The illustrations in this document might differ slightly from your hardware.
Removing the cover
To remove the cover, complete the following steps.
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and "Installation guidelines"
2. If you are planning to view the error LEDs that are on the system board and

cover off the server. Set the cover aside.
Attention:
For proper cooling and airflow, replace the cover before you turn
on the server. Operating the server for extended periods of time (over 30
minutes) with the cover removed might damage server components.
