Otherwise, the HDD can suffer a fault (E602).

Be sure always to turn off the control panel power switch before turning off the main power switch
When Using the Print Function/When Receiving or Transmitting a Fax
Before using the main power switch, check to be sure that the Execute/Memory lamp on the control panel is off.
(Turning off the main power switch while an operation is under way can cause loss of data.)
