What to do with Ink Spills on Surfaces
Observe precautions as noted above, then:
1.
Ventilate the area
2.
Contain the spill
3.
Cover with absorbent material
4.
Collect spilled absorbent material
5.
Place in a closed container
6.
Clean up residue with water (do not release to waterways or sewer)
7.
Incinerate in a permitted hazardous waste incinerator
What to do with Ink Spills on Persons
•
Eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with large amounts of water. Get
immediate medical attention.
•
Skin contact: Flush skin with large amounts of water. If irritation persists, get
medical attention.
•
Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. If not breathing, get immediate
medical attention and give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, get
immediate medical attention.
•
If swallowed: Call a physician immediately. Only induce vomiting at the
instructions of a physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious
person.
