provides information on the installation and basic operation of your RealPresence Collaboration Server
(RMX) 1500/1800/2000/4000 Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) for video conferencing.
This guide will help you understand the Polycom video conferencing components, and provides a
description of basic conferencing operations.
This guide will help you perform the following tasks:
● Install the MCU
 Unpack the RealPresence Collaboration Server system and install it on a rack.
 Connect the required cables to the RealPresence Collaboration Server.
● Perform basic configuration procedures.
● Connect to the MCU.
● Start a new conference directly on the MCU and connect participants/endpoints to it (optional).
● Monitor ongoing conferences.
● Perform basic operations and monitoring tasks.
The Polycom® RealPresence Collaboration Server (RMX) 1500/1800/2000/4000 Administrator's Guide
provides more in-depth information on configuring and managing the system, and performing the following
tasks:
● Further customize the Network Settings. In Collaboration Server 1500/2000/4000, customization is
