LIGHTING SYSTEM

LIGHT SWITCH INSPECTION

1. Inspect:
Light switch continuity

Tester (+) lead → Yellow lead 1
Tester (–) lead → Blue lead 2
OFF
No continuous while being
Continuous while being OFF → Replace.
CDI MAGNETO INSPECTION
1. Inspect:
Lighting coil resistance
G
Out of specification → Replace.
Tester (+) lead → Yellow lead 1
Tester (–) lead → Black lead 2
Lighting coil
resistance
0.16 ~ 0.24 Ω at
20 ˚C (68 ˚F)
VOLTAGE REGULATOR INSPECTION
1. Start the engine.
2. Turn on the headlight and taillight by turn-
ing on the light switch.
3. Inspect:
Out-put voltage
G
Out of specification → Replace voltage
regulator.
Tester (+) lead → Blue lead 1
Tester (–) lead → Black lead 2
Out-put voltage
13.3 ~ 14.3 V at
5,000 r/min
