Starter Replacement
1 . M a k e s u r e y o u h a v e t h e a n t i - t h e f t c o d e f o r t h e
r a d i o , t h e n w r i t e d o w n t h e f r e q u e n c i e s f o r t h e
radio's preset buttons ('99 - 00 models).
Disconnect the battery negative cable.
Disconnect the starter cable from the B terminal on
t h e s o l e n o i d , t h e n d i s c o n n e c t t h e B L K t r H T w i r e
from the S terminal.

4 . R e m o v e t h e t w o b o l t s h o l d i n g t h e s t a r t e r , t h e n
remove the starter.
lnstall in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: When installing the staner cable, make sure
that the crimped side ofthe ring terminal is facing out.
TERMINAL
Connect the battery positive cable and negative cable
to the battery.
Enter the anti-theft code for the radio, then enter the
customer's radio station presets ('99 - 00 models).

Starter Reassembly
'1.
Pry back each brush spring with a screwdriver, then
position the brush about halfway out of its holder.
and release the spring to hold it there.
Install the armature in the housing. Next, pry back
each brush spring again, and push the brush down
until it seats against the commutator, then release
the spring against the end of the brush.

Install the end cover on the brush holder.
