4.1.5 Checking and Adding Hydraulic Oil

The hydraulic oil level will need to be inspected before the windrower is operated. It may be necessary to add hydraulic oil
to the reservoir.
WARNING
Do NOT inspect the hydraulic system for leaks using a part of your body. High-pressure fluid escaping through a pinhole
leak can penetrate the skin, causing serious injury.
Checking hydraulic oil level
1. Locate sight glass (A) on the right side of the hydraulic
fluid tank.
NOTE:
The sight glass allows the Operator to visually inspect the
oil level and its quality. The sight glass can be inspected
while the hood is closed.
2. Ensure that the hydraulic oil level is between the low and
the full indicator marks on the sight glass.
IMPORTANT:
If the oil is not visible in the sight glass, then the oil level is
below the ADD mark on the dipstick. This problem should
be addressed immediately.
3. If the hydraulic oil level is too low, add hydraulic oil to the
reservoir.
Adding hydraulic oil
4. To add hydraulic oil to the hydraulic oil reservoir, do the
following:
a.
Refer to to determine what type of hydraulic fluid is
needed.
b. Clean the area around the filler plug to prevent debris
from entering the tank.
c.
