Detect body parts

If the safety laser scanner is used to detect body parts, a physical limit must be monitored
in vertical applications. This monitoring is performed by comparison between a reference
distance and the distance currently measured by the safety laser scanner.
Limit points are determined during the installation of the safety laser scanner. The distance
between these limit points and the safety laser scanner forms the reference distance.
The detection capability of the safety laser scanner required for this must be between
30 mm and 70 mm.
Legend
If a limit point overlaps with the limit of the protected zone, the tolerance zone in mm must
no exceed half of the selected detection capability. If this is exceeded, the zone must be
protected by an additional safety device.
