NOTE
• The message "ALARM 81" is displayed if the zeroing is performed when the contact
position exceeds ± 20% of the measuring range of the probe, with respect to its optimum
zeroing position.
• Should the master deviation be programmed with a value different from zero, this value is
displayed after zeroing is performed.
3.6.1

Remote zeroing

The Quick Read can be zeroed, in measuring mode, through an external pushbutton (optional);
this function is enabled by selecting I/O in the secondary menu of the variable COM-MODE.
The pushbutton has to be connected to the RS232 port of the Quick Read (see Figure 1 at page
33). In this case the port cannot be used for data transmission.

3.7 Measurement types

This Quick Read Microcolumn can perform both static and dynamic elaboration of the
measurement.
The type of measurement to be carried out is programmed by choosing for the variable M. TYPE
one of the following:
hold, static, Max, min, M – m, (M+m)/2, (M – m)/2
This mode allows to "freeze" on the display the current static measuring value. To enable it
proceed as follows:
1. Program M. TYPE = "hold", then exit the programming and carry out the measurement
2. When the measuring value is displayed press ESC

HOLD is displayed first, then the "frozen" measuring value blinking.
To return to measuring mode press ESC again
•
MEASURE is displayed first, then the current measuring value.
DYNAMIC MEASURING MODE ["Max", "min", "M – m", "(M + m)/2", "(M – m)/2"]
This mode allows to carry out different measurement elaborations according to the programmed
type.
To enable it proceed as follows:
1. Program the required measurement type [M. TYPE = "Max", "min", "M – m", "(M + m)/2",
"(M – m)/2"], then exit the programming. In this condition Quick Read still elaborates a
static measurement
2. To enable the programmed dynamic measurement type press DYN for two seconds
• DYNAMIC is displayed blinking (until the acquisition start command is given) and the
analog visualization disappears
3. Press + to command the acquisition start
• START is displayed first, then the measuring value
4. Press again + to stop the acquisition
• STOP is displayed first, then the "frozen" measuring value blinking
