3.6 Zeroing
The Quick Read zeroing has to be performed as follows:
1. If a single sensor is connected:
A) Press SET UP for two seconds:
•
"SET UP" is displayed for two seconds
•
the led of the zero becomes yellow
•
the tolerance limits disappear
•
the digital display shows the value of the contact position as to its optimum zeroing
position. This value is shown also on the analog display by a yellow led.
NOTE
By pressing SETUP again it is possible to return to the measuring mode without zeroing
the unit.
B) Bring the contact close to its optimum zeroing position by manually adjusting the
measuring gauge (the displayed value has to get near to zero).
NOTE
•
If the displayed value is bigger than the analog range full scale value, the zero led is
yellow and blinking.
•
"OVER RNG" is displayed and the analog display is off if the contact position is out of
its working range.
C) When the value on the display is near to zero press ZERO:
•
the digital display blinks, then "ZEROED" is displayed for two seconds.
The zeroing procedure is over and the Quick Read automatically goes to measuring mode
displaying "0.000" or "0.0000" according to the programmed resolution (M.RESOL. = "low" or
M.RESOL. = "high" respectively).
NOTE
• The message "ALARM 81" is displayed if the zeroing is performed when the contact
position exceeds ± 20% of the measuring range of the probe, with respect to its optimum
zeroing position.
• Should the master deviation be programmed with a value different from zero, this value is
displayed after zeroing is performed.
