13. Installing the covers

Put together or install the component parts such as covers, brackets, chip pins, chip
conveyor, coolant tank oil pan, fence, splash guards and footsteps (all of which were
removed for transportation of the machine) back in the original position.

13.1 Installing the chip cover (sliding cover) on the bed

1) Installing the sliding cover of the Z axis
① With a rope hooked to the gravity center of
the Z-axis sliding cover, lift up and put the
sliding cover down on the edge of the
column bed with grease applied to the
guide bar.
② Extend the springs (x2) before inserting into
the spring bracket.
③ Move up the Z axis until the sliding cover is
closed completely. Then, tighten the bolts.
