All faults are delayed in order to avoid generating unnecessarily faults. Some units may
also have an internal delay time, which makes the delay time even longer. In NZ convention,
total delay time is less than 60 seconds.
In case of a fault condition, the following will occur in the FDCIE:
The buzzer in FT1020G3 sounds continuously (steady).
The fault relay output for routing equipment (Fault TX) is de-activated (fault relay
is normally energised).
Programmable output(s) for general fault is activated and output(s) for general
charger fault might be activated.
LED Routing equipment "Fault TX activated" is illuminating.
LED Fault / Disablements "General fault" is illuminating.
LEDs Fault / Disablements "Alarm devices", "System fault" and/or Fault /
Disablements "Fire brigade TX" may also illuminate.
A fault message including date, time and status is displayed on the FDCIE display.
If the fault is generated by an alarm point or zone, the user definable alarm text will
be shown.
Example; fault message:
FAULT: No reply zone: xxx address: xx
technical number xxxxxx
User definable alarm text
dd-mm-yyyy hh:mm
Number of faults in
In the FDCIE display up to three fault messages can be shown simultaneously. In
the display, down to the left, the number of faults is displayed.
If a fault has been corrected (Serviced) before it has been acknowledged, the
status information is "Serviced", see above. In EBLWin, if the fault is set to be non-
latching in the system properties, the "Serviced" fault will disappear however, the
fault will be saved in the even log.
Fire alarm presentation has higher priority than the fault messages. However,
during fire alarm presentation the faults can be shown via the menu system (fault
acknowledge H6), see "Entering the Menus during Fire Alarm" page 60.
Faults have to be acknowledged, this is done via menu H6 (see page 146). This menu is a
list of all faults in the system:
Not corrected / serviced and not acknowledged fault
Not corrected / serviced but acknowledged fault (acknowledged)
Corrected / serviced but not acknowledged fault (serviced)
If a fault cannot be corrected, contact service personnel / engineer immediately.
The faults are normally latched, but can be set via EBLWin to be "not latched". This will
make the fault disappear from the list when serviced but not acknowledged.
The fault list will be shown when the user is logged out of the menu, displays all faults, even
acknowledged faults.
