I/O Matrix 4582

The I/O matrix board 4582 is an interface between the FDCIE (COM loop) and various
types of control / indication boards e.g. AS1668 fan control, Zone Disable and indication, NZ
mimic panel, etc. The I/O matrix is connected to a COM loop and requires 24Vdc supply.
Note: The I/O matrix board 4582 and its application boards have been discontinued and
replaced by the 19" rack modules with built-in I/O matrix circuit for zone and fan / damper
modules.
Up to 24 of the I/O matrix boards (or circuits) can be used in FT1020G3 if no Expansion
Boards type 4580 or 4581 are used. The limitation of the I/O matrix configuration as follows:
Up to six I/O matrix can be programmed in FT1020G3 FDCIE as type "Zone
control" (1205) and / or "Generic" e.g. NZ fire brigade panel, LED mimic, etc.
Up to 24 I/O matrix can be programmed as type "Fan control" (1206) or "Damper
control" (1211) if no other I/O matrix circuits are used for generic or zone control i.e.
up to 96 fans / dampers can be controlled and displayed in FT1020G3.
A combination of any of the two previous options can be used if the maximum
number of each application is maintained.
In the generic applications (used in New Zealand), each I/O matrix board can operate up to
48 LEDs (outputs) and 16 switches (inputs). All outputs and inputs can be configured
individually via EBLWin.
The I/O matrix 4582 can be used remotely (NZ index panel), it requires 24V
loop in addition to an indicators board. Addressing and mode setting of 4582 is shown in
Table 9 below.

NZ Fire Brigade (LED) Mimic Board

The generic feature in EBLWin software supports the mimic applications
4582 is used in New Zealand.
Each NZ mimic board provides 12 LED indicators and screw terminals for 4 inputs
(switches). The first 3 LEDs used for Normal (green), Defect (yellow) and common alarm
(red). The remainder 9 LEDs (red) used to indicate separate zone alarm indication or
sprinkler flow switch indication. Two of the four inputs are used to interface the fire brigade
bulgin keys to the FDCIE. Additional mimic boards provide 12 red LED indicators for each
board.
Up to 4 mimic boards can be interfaced to each I/O matrix board 4582 to provide indications
for up to 48 LED's, max. of six I/O matrix boards can be used in the NZ mimic applications.

In the 19" rack format, the I/O matrix circuit (4582) is incorporated in AS1668 fan/damper module 1206/1211
and zone control module 1205.
16
In NZ LED mimic applications, the I/O matrix board can be replaced with the 19" rack 8 x LED module 1209.
