perature value is kept, proceed to 2.24.
The detected value of 231°C is used here
as an example.
b. DETECTED OUTSIDE 10°C OF REF-
ERENCE. If the detected temperature is
more than 10°C from the reference, you
cannot keep the value. Press any key.
Check the Tin Calibrator, then repeat the
AUTOCAL TC procedure. The value of
247 °C is used here as an example.
NOTE - failure to detect a good calibration
temperature could be caused by several factors:
• Operator is not following procedures cor-
rectly. Carefully read the instructions and
repeat the procedure.
• Tin contaminated. To replace, see ROUTINE
MAINTENANCE in the Maintenance Manual.
Repeat procedure.
• Thermocouple is defective. To replace, see
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE in the Mainte-
nance Manual. Repeat AUTOCAL procedure.
• Computer is not adjusted properly. Contact
your authorized Alcor service representative.
2.23 If a Tin freezing point temperature was NOT
detected and kept, you are asked to press
EXIT to end calibration or proceed to 2.14 to
repeat the Tin Calibration.

NOTE – if a valid temperature was not detected
and kept (retained), pressing ENTER will return
you to the "PERFORM CALIBRATION?"
(AUTOCAL TC) display. You must keep a valid
Tin Calibration temperature to continue to the
next calibration (Lead) point.
2.24 If a proper Tin freezing point temperature was
detected and kept (retained), the AUTOCAL
TC procedure will continue with the Lead
Calibration.
2.25 Raise the thermocouple to the extreme upper
limit and then remove the Tin AutoCal Calibra-
tor.
2.26 Install the Lead (Pb) AutoCal Calibrator by
placing the hollow end of the calibrator flush
with the top surface of the upper bus and
tightening both Allen screws.
