2.6 ASSEMBLY OF WATER RESERVOIR

1. Remove the quick connect fitting from the
bottom of the water reservoir outlet fitting by
sliding collar toward fitting. Then place the water
reservoir on the reservoir stand.
2. Fill the water reservoir completely with distilled
or deionized water.
3. Place the water reservoir cover on top of the
water reservoir, taking care that the O-ring stays
in the groove.
4. Insert the screws with washers into the water
reservoir cover holes and tighten uniformly with
the nut driver.
5. Put the water reservoir over the quick connect
fitting on the test platform and press down firmly
until seated. A "snap" will be heard when
reservoir is seated.

6. Connect the INLET line and VENT line and
snugly finger-tighten four knurled fittings.

2.7 ASSEMBLY OF AIR TRAP

1. Fill glass jar with distilled water.
2. Attach glass jar to air trap assembly and place a
beaker under the air trap assembly drip line.

2.8 PREPARATION OF TEST FUEL

NOTE - Test method results are known to be
sensitive to trace contamination from sampling
containers. For recommended sampling contain-
ers refer to ASTM D 4306.
