9. Connect the fuel outlet line assembly to the
heater tube housing outlet. Finger tighten lightly.
10. Using paper tissue that has been wetted with
solvent, clean the contact area on the end of the
bars (busses) that hold the heater tube.
11. Raise the thermocouple to the uppermost
position.
12. Place the heater tube test section between the
bus bars. Check the alignment. Connect and
tighten the heater tube fuel outlet and bypass
lines to the bulkhead fittings on the rear wall of
the test section being sure that the O-rings on
these fittings are in place.

13. If the bus caps have been removed, check for
proper mating. Numbers are stamped on the
inside faces and these must be the same and
face each other. To ensure consistent reassem-
bly, the caps are normally not completely re-
moved from their respective bus bar.
14. After making sure that upper end of the heater
tube is flush with the top surface to the upper
fixed bus, tighten both Allen screws of the upper
fixed bus cap.
15. Raise the lower floating bus to its uppermost
position and tighten both Allen screws of the bus
cap.
16. Check the thermocouple for proper position by
raising the position indicator (top of slide) to the
thermocouple reference line. The thermocouple
tip must be flush with the top of the heater tube
and the top of the upper fixed bus. If not, adjust
by loosening the screw on the socket and reposi-
tioning the thermocouple plug as needed.
