1. INTRODUCTION

The JFTOT (Jet Fuel Thermal Oxidation Tester) is
used for the thermal oxidation stability test of turbine
fuels. It consists essentially of a fuel system with a
heater tube test section (including a test filter),
together with associated equipment for controlling
and measuring the heater tube temperature. A
differential pressure transducer is used to measure
∆P across the test filter.

The maintenance (routine and repair) of the
JFTOT II ranges from simple to very complicated.
This maintenance manual will attempt to provide
adequate information to maintain the JFTOT in
proper working condition. All maintenance and
service required inside the JFTOT must be per-
formed only by a qualified technician.
