8. Rotate the bus caps and remove the heater tube
test section.
9. Using tweezers, remove the O-ring and test filter
from the discharge chamber and discard.
10. Remove the hex nuts and shoulder insulators.
11. Slide the heater tube out of the housing. Do not
touch the tube in the area that the fuel contacts.
Remove and discard the O-rings. Save the
insulators.
12. Put on gloves. Hold the heater tube so that it
points upwards from fingers. Flush the heater
tube with solvent.

13. After the solvent has evaporated from the heater
tube, place the heater tube in the original plastic
container and seal it with a cap. Mark it with the
appropriate identification. Rate the heater tube as
per the Heater Tube Deposit Rating Section in
the Operation Manual.
14. Unscrew and remove the fuel reservoir from the
apparatus. Place the reservoir in a cleaning pan.
Check for possible fuel leakage into drive
column. If there is evidence of leakage, check lip
seal, piston, and fuel reservoir for cuts or
scratches.
15. Unscrew and remove the fuel reservoir cover
from the reservoir. Empty any fuel remaining in
the reservoir into an appropriate waste container.
