Chassis Component Alarm Conditions on EX4200 Switches

This topic describes the chassis component alarm conditions on EX4200 switches.
Table 60 on page 236 lists the alarms that the chassis components can generate on EX4200 switches, their
severity levels, and the actions you can take to respond to them.

Power A power supply has been
removed from the
supplies
chassis.
The power supply is
offline or the power
supply output has failed.
An unknown power
supply is installed.
Fan tray Fan tray is not installed.
One fan in the chassis is
not spinning or is
spinning at below the
required speed.
Fan failure–i2c read
failure.
Alarm
Severity Remedy
Minor Install a power supply in the empty slot.

Major (red) Open a support case using the Case Manager link at
https://www.juniper.net/support/

and Canada) or 1-408-745-9500 (from outside the
United States).
Minor Install a Juniper networks recommended power supply.
(yellow)
Minor Install the fan tray.
(yellow)
Major (red) Check the fan.
Replace the faulty fan tray.
If the above two checks show no problems, open a
