– Install lower toothed belt guard -arrows-.
Remaining installation steps are carried out in reverse sequence;
note the following:
– Install sump ⇒ page 117
– Install belt pulley vibration damper (renew securing bolts).
Specified torque: 10 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn) further.
3.9.2 Installing a previously used balancer
shaft module again
Caution
If the intermediate gear wheel bolt was loosened, the drive gear
wheel on crankshaft was renewed or the crankshaft was re‐
moved, a new intermediate gear wheel with coating must be
installed and the hub

otherwise the tooth backlash is incorrect. Procedure when in‐
stalling ⇒ page 111 .
Note
If the previously used balancer shaft module is to be reinstalled

and the drive gear wheel on crankshaft was renewed or the
crankshaft was removed, proceed as follows. The intermedi‐
ate gear wheel must also not have been loosened.
Renew the bolts tightened with specified tightening angle.
