– Remove securing bolts in sequence -8...1-.
– Remove balancer shaft module.
Installing
Prerequisites
• Engine set to TDC No. 1 cylinder.
• Balancer shaft is locked with locking device -T10255- .
Note
Before installing check whether dowel sleeves are fitted in bal‐
ancer shaft module.
– Install balancer shaft module and tighten all new securing bolts
hand-tight.
– Then place chain sprocket onto shaft so that the bolt holes in
the shaft are central in elongated holes in chain sprocket.
Note
Turn chain sprocket one tooth further if the bolt holes do not lie
centrally in elongated holes. The balancer shaft module must be
unscrewed again for this.
– Tighten the new securing bolts -arrows- hand-tight. Then loos‐
en securing bolts about one turn.
– Then tighten the balancer shaft module securing bolts to the
prescribed torque in the sequence -1...8-.

M7 = 13 Nm + / 4 turn (90°) further.

M8 = 20 Nm + / 4 turn (90°) further.
