Symptom
E530-8002/1122/112F Jam codes when printed in mixed paper widths (Booklet/Staple
Finisher-D1)
[Inspected by Canon Inc. ]
Description
While printing in mixed paper widths, A4 and A4R papers to the Booklet Finisher-D1 or the Staple
Finisher-D1, at the moment of changing from A4 to A4R, 1122 jam or 112F jam (E530-8002) occurred in
Field.
- 1122: Finisher Feed Sensor Stationary jam
- 112F: Finisher Error Avoidance jam
- E530-8002: Error in the Front Alignment Motor
Cause
The fault was with the software of the finisher, SORTER Ver30.01 and before. This symptom is as follows:
The A4 paper stacked in the processing tray unit inside the finisher was not delivered into the tray at the
moment of change from A4 to A4R paper.
In the situation above, at the moment of change from A4 to A4R, the alignment plates at the front/rear sides
of the processing tray unit compressed the A4 paper toward center from both sides by moving to the
stacking position for A4R, so that the paper feed path was obstructed and so the following A4R paper
jammed inside the finisher. Depending on the way the A4 paper crushed, the front alignment motor can be
subjected to the stress to generate E530-8002 or 112F jam.
Field Remedy
1) Upgrade the system software of the device (MN-CONT) to Ver45.02 or later.
2) Upgrade the software of the Booklet/Staple Finisher (SORTER) to Ver.31.01 or later.
[Caution] Upgrade the system software of the device (MN-CONT) to Ver.45.02 or later definitely before
upgrading the software of the finisher.
3) Perform a test copy to check if paper jam or error code in the finisher tray has improved.
