Symptom
Line in horizontal scanning direction at trailing edge of image after replacement of ETB
[Manual-related]
Description
A line in the horizontal scanning direction sometimes occurs at the trailing edge of the image after
replacement of ETB.
Cause
Difference in rotation speed between the ETB and the Photosensitive Drum causes distortion of the ETB.
A line occurs on the image due to vibration caused by release of the distortion.
Field Remedy
1. Output a halftone image in service mode as shown below.
Service Mode > Test > PG > TYPE 6
Service Mode > Test > PG > PG-PICK
Select the paper source where A3 (LDR) size or larger is set.
2. Check the output image for a line in the horizontal scanning direction at the trailing edge of the image.
- If there is a line: Proceed to step 3.
- If there is no line: End.
3. Measure the distance from the trailing edge of the image to the line, and perform adjustment in service
mode as shown below.
COPIER > ADJUST > FEED-ADJ > TBLT-SPD: Fine adjustment of ETB speed
- Approx. 55mm from the trailing edge to the line: increase the value by 10. (The ETB will speed up.)
- Approx. 63mm from the trailing edge to the line: decrease the value by 10. (The ETB will slow down.)
4. Output a halftone image with the condition of step 1, and then check the image.
- If there is a line: Perform step 3 again.
- If there is no line: End.
