Part III. Vehicle Start Failure
1. Simple Inspection
Start the vehicle following engine start up
methods and check if there is enough fuel be-
fore inspection.
If starter does not run or runs slowly:
1.1. Checks if battery wire connecting rod is
tight and clean.
1.2. If the rod is good, turn on the interior light.
If the interior light does not light, dims, or
goes off, when the engine is started, the
battery has run out. Try jump starting. For
detailed instructions, please refer to jump
starting on next page.
If the interior light is good, but engine still
does not start, the engine needs adjustment or
repair. Inform Geely service station.
Warning
Do not start the vehicle by towing or
pushing the vehicle, or when the engine
is started, there may be damages or
crash, and also fire due to three-way
catalytic converter overheat.
If the starter is running at normal rotate
speed, but does not start:
1. There may be engine overflow caused by
repetitive start. For more details, please
refer to the repair instruction part of start
overflow engine.
2. If the engine still does not start, adjustment
or repair is needed. Please call the nearest
Geely service station.
2. Start Overflow Engine
If the engine can not be started, it may result from
the oil overflow of engine due to repeated starting.
If this happens, press the acceleration pedal to
make the throttle valve wide open, turn the key
to "START". Hold the key and acceleration pedal
for 15 seconds, and release. Start the engine again
with foot away from the acceleration pedal.
If engine does not start after 15 seconds, release
the key. Wait for several minutes, and try again.
If engine still does not start, further adjustment
or repair is needed. Contact Geely service sta-
tion or qualified service stations for help.
Warning
Do not start the engine for more than
30 seconds, or engine starter and wiring
system may be overheated.
