Warning
Do not park for a long time with
the engine still running. But the driver
has to do this, park the car in an open
place, and adjust heating or cooling
system to ventilate air from outside into
the car.
Please keep the rear compartment
lid closed while driving. Exhaust can
enter the vehicle through open or ajar
lid.
 To keep the ventilation system work-
ing, make sure there is no snow, leaves,
or other obstacles in intake grills in
front of the windshield.
 When there is smell of exhaust in the
car, lower the lift window and shut off
the rear compartment lid. Meanwhile
find out the source of the smell, and
correct it.
Catalytic converter may be damaged if engine
is not functioning well. So please follow the
instructions below:
 When engine is found running unstably or
has cold start difficulty, go to Geely ser-
vice station to have the vehicle inspected.
 When catalytic converter is working, its
temperature is very high. Do not let flam-
mable material stick or get close to its
case.

7. Oil Consumption

Function of Oil
The main functions of oil are to cool and lubri-
cate the engine internally and keep the engine
in proper working status.
Usually, engine consumes some oil. Normally,
the reasons of oil consumption are:
 Engine oil lubricates piston, piston rings
and cylinder. When piston is moving up
and down in the cylinder, a thin oil film is
left on the wall. When decelerating, some
oil will be suctioned into the combustion
chamber by high negative pressure. The
oil, as well as the oil film left on cylinder
walls is burnt by high temperature flaming
gas in the process of combustion.
 Engine oil also lubricates intake valve
stem. Some of the oil is suctioned into the
combustion chamber together with airflow
and burnt with fuel. High temperature
