13. Seat Belt

Seat Belt Precautions
It is required by the traffic code that the driver
and passengers in the vehicle shall fasten their
seat belts anytime. Failure to do this could in-
crease the chance of body injury in accidents.
The seat belt buckle is designed for adults.
Certain age is required for correct fastening of
the seat belt buckle.
Child: Child safety device must be used until
the child grows up enough to be able to fasten
the seat belt buckle properly. If the child is too
big to use the child safety device, he can sit in
a rear seat and fasten the seat belt buckle for
proper protection. If the child has to sit in the
front seat, he must fasten the seat belt buckle
properly. Failure to do this could result in
death or bad injury of the child arising from
the instantaneous deployment of the front seat
air bag. No matter in a front or rear seat, don't
let the child stand or kneel on it. Unprotected
child is liable to bad injury or even death in
case of emergent brake or collision. Similarly,
do not let the child sit on your legs, which can
not offer proper protection.
Pregnant Woman: it is recommended to
use seat belt buckle, and ask the doctor for
concerned suggestions. Waist seat belt buckle
should be fastened and kept low to the buttock
instead of the waist.
Disabled: it is recommended to use seat belt.
Ask the doctor for concerned suggestions
based on the disabled condition of the injury.
Warning
During the driving, the passengers in the
vehicle should sit in their seats and fasten
the seat belt, otherwise they are liable to
bad body injury or death in case of emer-
gent brake or collision.
Follow the requirements as below when us-
ing the seat belt:
 The seat belt can only be used by one
person in one time. It is not allowed for
two or more than two persons to share the
same seat belt (Neither for child).
 Avoid tilt the seatback excessively, when
the seatback is upright, the seat belt plays
biggest role in protection.
 Check the seat belt regularly for notch, wear
or loose part. Damaged part should be replaced.
Do not remove or change the system.
 Keep the seat belt clean and dry. Wash it if
necessary. Neutral soap water or warm wa-
ter can be used, do not use bleacher, stain
or abrasive compound which will severely
impair the seat belt.
