Warning
Do not overestimate ABS: even the ABS
helps to control the vehicle, it is still very
important to obey all the driving instruc-
tions, drive at appropriate speed, and
keep enough distance from the vehicle in
the front. Because ABS has limited func-
tion in keeping the vehicle stable and
operating the steering wheel.
ABS cannot keep the vehicle under con-
trol if tire exceeds its anti-skid capabil-
ity or wheel spins when driving at high
speed in rainy days.
ABS does not shorten the stopping dis-
tance: drive at appropriate speed, and
keep enough distance from the front
vehicle. In the following cases, vehicles
equipped with ABS need more stopping
distance than vehicle without ABS:
Driving on rough roads and roads
full of stones or snow.
 Driving vehicles with tire chain.
 Driving on the joint part of roads.
 Driving on roads with pits, or uneven
surface.
Install tires of correct size and pressure
on four wheels. ABS gets the vehicle
speed by measuring the rotational speed
of each wheel with a speed sensor. The
rotational speed cannot be correctly
measured and the stopping distance in-
creases, if tires of other sizes are used.
Brake Pad Wear Indicator
Brake pad indicator on brake disc makes warn-
ing sound when the pad is worn and needs
replacement.
When you hear chirping or friction noise, in-
spect brake pad, and have it replaced by the
nearest Geely service station.
Do not drive the vehicle when there is alarm-
ing noises.
Expensive rotors are damaged when the vehicle
is running without replacing new brake pads.
And to have the same brake distance as usual,
you need to depress the brake pedal a lot harder.
