15. Air bag

The car with front air bag (you have to verify
the specific configuration of the car you buy).
The test shows that single use of seat belt can
not avoid the severe collision between the
head and steering wheel or instrument panel
in case of severe frontal impact where the air
bag can be used as a buffer to protect the head
and chest of the front passengers, relieving the
impact of the steering wheel and instrument to
them. Air bag together with the seat belt can
provide better protection.
For the sake of your happiness and safety,
please read the user manual carefully before
use of the car!
Warning
In case of severe frontal collision, the air
bag system in conjunction with the three-
point type seat belt will provide more
effective protection to the head and chest
of the front passenger.
The air bag is only a part of the vehicle
reactive security system and should by
no means substitute the seat belt, other-
wise it will not be able to play effective
role of protection in case of real acci-
dents.
Therefore, the driver must fasten the
seat belt during driving!
Air Bag System Composition
 Electronic Control Unit (ECU), located
under the instrument panel compartment
 Steering wheel with air bag module
 Passenger side air bag module installed in
the passenger side instrument panel
 Clock spring, located between the combi-
nation switch and the steering wheel
 Warning light installed in the combination
meter
Air Bag Warning Light
The air bag system is monitored by electronic
device and indicated by the air bag warning
light. After the ignition switch is turned on,
the air bag warning light will go on for about
4 seconds and then go off automatically after
the system finish the self check. If the warning
light does not go off or go on during driving, it
shows that there is problem in the system.
