Imaging System Configuration

Your SelectSet Avantra imagesetter is one component of a complete
imaging system. Imaging systems can include:
Front-end computers running PostScript language applications
software. These are used for word processing, creating and editing
graphic images, and page layout.
A raster image processor (RIP). This receives the job from the
front-end computer, assembles it, and sends it to the imagesetter.
Output devices. These include proofing devices driven from the
front-end computer and high-quality final production devices,
such as the SelectSet Avantra imagesetter, driven by its own RIP.
Imaging systems that support the SelectSet Avantra imagesetters can
be made up of many different combinations of hardware and software.
To use your imagesetter most effectively, you need to understand all
the components of your unique imaging system.
