Disc Replacement - Polaris RANGER XP 900 2018-2019 Service Manual

DISC REPLACEMENT

1. Remove the front brake caliper. Refer to "Front
Caliper Removal"page 9.16 procedure.
2. Remove wheel hub cotter pin
w
washers .
3. Remove the wheel hub assembly from the vehicle
and remove the four bolts
hub.
4. Clean the wheel hub mating surface and install the
new disc on the wheel hub. Torque new disc
t
mounting bolts to specification.
IMPORTANT
Always use new brake disc mounting bolts. The bolts
have a pre-applied locking agent which is destroyed
upon removal.
TORQUE
Front Brake Disc Mounting Bolts:
18 lb-ft (24 Nm)

Torque castle nut to specification and install a new
cotter pin.
TORQUE
Front Wheel Hub Castle Nut:
80 lb-ft (108 Nm)
6. Install front brake caliper. Refer to "Front Caliper
Installation"page 9.18 procedure.
bleeding procedure outlined earlier in this chapter.
7. Field test unit for proper braking action before putting
into service. Inspect for fluid leaks and firm brakes.
Make sure the brake is not dragging when pedal is
released. If the brake drags, re-check assembly and
installation.
