A user's password is one of the Community Names specified in
NOTES
the SNMP Community Names screen. Access to certain Local
Management capabilities depends on the degree of access
accorded that Community Name. Refer to
If an invalid password is entered, the terminal beeps and the
cursor returns to the beginning of the password entry field.
When entering a valid password, the associated access level
displays at the bottom of the screen and the Main Menu screen
displays.
If no activity occurs for several minutes, the Password screen
reappears and the session ends.
5.4.1
Navigating Local Management Screens
The 2H22-08R Local Management application consists of a series of
menu screens. Navigate through Local Management by selecting items
from the menu screens.
The 2H22-08R support three modes of switch operation. The switching
modes are as follows:

802.1d Switching (traditional switching)
•
802.1Q Switching (802.1Q port based switching)
•
SECURE FAST VLAN (Cabletron Systems SecureFast switching)
Depending on the Operational Mode set for the device, the hierarchy of
Local Management screens differs as shown in
Figure
5-6. Refer to the appropriate figure that relates to the Operational
Mode set for the device to see the applicable Local Management screen
hierarchy.
