Checking the Basics
Using the
OfficeConnect
Gateway web
pages
Before you continue on to the more detailed troubleshooting sections of
this chapter, please check the following:
Verify that the cables are not physically damaged. If damage is
I
apparent, replace the cable.
Verify that you are using the proper cables with your
I
OfficeConnect Gateway, and that they are connected correctly.
Verify that the power cord is connected to the OfficeConnect
I
Gateway and an electrical outlet.
CAUTION: The OfficeConnect Gateway will not operate if it is connected
to an analog telephone wall jack. Make sure the OfficeConnect Gateway
is connected directly into the DSL wall outlet (do not make an
intermediate connection to telephone equipment).
For more information on the proper set up and installation of your
OfficeConnect Gateway, refer to the OfficeConnect Gateway Quick Start
Guide that was provided with your product.
In addition to the troubleshooting information contained in this chapter,
you can use your web browser to access and view the following types of
information from the OfficeConnect Gateway web pages:
LAN and DSL Traffic Statistics monitored by the OfficeConnect
I
Gateway. (See Chapter 10, Statistics for more information.)
DSL Status information, Uptime information (Days, Hours, Minutes),

DownStream and UpStream Rates (Kbps). (See Chapter 10, Statistics
for more information.)
System Summary and Network Settings (See Chapter 11, View

Settings for more information.)
This information can be helpful in diagnosing and locating problems on
your LAN or WAN.
