the signal is multiplexed and is input to PB/MONI AUDIO DSP1 where the signal and the main-line playback digital
audio signal are switched and are used as needed such as at the time of shuttle playback.
Analog audio output
The playback digital audio data output from VAX is sent to the audio D/A converter (IC301) on the AU-366 board for
conversion to analog audio signal. The analog audio signals are output from the AUDIO OUT connector (CN400, 500/
AU-366 board). (2-channel input)
Digital audio (AES/EBU) output
The playback digital audio signal output from ROVO is sent to the DIT (IC012, IC013) on the ADI-11 board to be
encoded. Then the 4-channel serial data is sent to the AES/EBU driver (IC017, IC018) on the ADI-11 board, and is then
output from the AES/EBU OUT connector (CN7) on the ADI-11 board.
HDSDI output
The playback digital audio data output from VAX is input to the ROVO via the CN31/VPR-118 board. The audio data
are multiplexed with the playback digital video data in ROVO. Then the multiplexed data undergoes parallel/serial
conversion, and then output from the HDSDI OUTPUT connector (CN1/VPR-118 board) to the outside as a 1.5 Gbps
HDSDI signal.
SDSDI output
The playback digital audio data output from VAX is input to the ROVO (IC300/VPR-118 board) via the CN31/VPR-118
board. The audio data are multiplexed with the playback digital video data in ROVO. Then the multiplexed data
undergoes parallel/serial conversion, and then output from the SDSDI OUTPUT connector (CN3, 4) to the outside as
the SDSDI signal.
MONITOR output
The digital audio signal for monitoring output from VAX is sent to the audio D/A converter (IC302) on the AU-366
board for conversion to analog audio signal. The analog audio signal is then output from the AUDIO MONITOR OUT
connector (CN600, 700/AU-366 board).
PHONES output, speaker output
The digital audio signal for headphone monitoring from VAX is sent to the audio D/A converter on the FP-209 board
for conversion to analog audio signal. The analog audio signal is then sent from the FP-209 board via HP-169 board,
and output from the PHONES connector (CN1).
The L/R ch of the D/A converter output are mixed, and then input to the speaker drive amplifier, where it becomes the
speaker output.
Network output
• Outputting disc data
Upon a DMA request from the CPU board, output data is read from the disc, and is then DMA-transferred to the
DDR memory on the CPU board in the reverse order of writing to the disc.
• Outputting external USB3.0 device data
Upon a DMA request from the CPU board, output data is read from the external USB3.0 device (CN201) on the
DIO-100 board, and is then DMA-transferred to the DDR memory on the CPU board in the reverse order of writing
to the external USB3.0 device.
For both disc data and external USB3.0 device data, the output data stored in the DDR memory is DMA-transferred to
the Ethernet interface IC (IC600) on the SY-438 board through the PCIe interface and is converted. Then the converted
data is output from the network connector (CN600).
HDMI output
The same signal as the MONITOR output signal is sent from ROVO to the HDMI TRANSMITTER (IC603) on the
VPR-118 board through the VSW (IC801) on the VPR-118 board.
