The digital encoded and compressed stream signal is sent to PIERe (IC1200) on the HPR-55 board to be written into
the PIERe SDRAM.
When recording format is DVCAM, the digital video signal is divided inside LVIS into the one that is sent to the internal
DVCAM encode processing block and the one that is returned to VAX again as the HD video output system of the E-
E image after up-conversion.
The digital stream signal that is encoded and compressed by the DVCAM encode processing block inside LVIS is sent
to PIERe (IC1200) on the HPR-55 board and is written into the PIERe SDRAM.
In addition, the SD digital video signal that is input to LVIS is divided regardless of the recording format, into the one
that is returned to VAX again as the SD video output signal of E-E image and the one for creating the proxy video data
in LVIS. The proxy video data that is encoded and compressed inside LVIS is sent to PIERe to be written into the PIERe
SDRAM.
The record data written to the PIERe SDRAM is DMA-transferred from PIERe to the DDR memory on the CPU board
with the PCI-Express interface.
The record data that is DMA-transferred from the DDR memory on the CPU board is converted to SATA signal by the
PCIe/SATA Bridge IC (IC2701) on the HPR-55 board. Then the converted SATA signal is sent through the CN-3594
board to the IF-1240 board.
The record data is sent to optical drive via the SATA DRIVER IC (IC101) on the IF-1240 board and to be written into
the disc.
Network input
The digital record data that is input from the network connector CN600 on the SY-438 board is converted by the Ethernet
interface IC (IC600). The converted data is DMA-transferred to the DDR memory in the CPU board on the HPR-55
board with the PCI Express (PCIe) interface.
• Writing data into the disc
The record data saved in the DDR memory is DMA-transferred to the PCIe / SATA Bridge IC (IC2701) on the
HPR-55 board with the PCIe interface, and is then converted to the SATA signal. Then the SATA signal is sent
through the CN-3594 board to the IF-1240 board.
The SATA signal is sent to optical drive via the SATA DRIVER IC (IC101) on the IF-1240 board and to be written
into the disc.
In the HD format or IMX format, to create proxy video data that is to be recorded simultaneously, the transferred
video data is sent from the PIERe (IC1200) to the MPEG codec NATH (IC500, IC1000) on the ENC-158 board
where the video data is decoded to video signal. This video signal is sent through the NECO (IC200) on the ENC-158
board to the VLIS (IC500) on the HPR-55 board to be encoded as proxy data. Then the encoded proxy data is sent
to the PIERe (IC1200) and is then sent back to the DDR memory on the CPU board. In the DV format, the transferred
video data is sent from the PIERe (IC1200) directly to the LVIS (IC500) to generate proxy data. The generated
proxy data is sent to the PIERe (IC1200) and is then sent back to the DDR memory on the CPU board.
Copying disc data to the external USB3.0 device
Upon a DMA request from the CPU board, data is read from the disc on the optical drive. The read data is sent to the
HPR-55 board through the PCI DRIVER IC (IC101) on the IF-1240 board and the CN-3594 board .
Furthermore, the data is DMA-transferred to the DDR memory on the CPU board through the PCIe/SATA Bridge IC
(IC2701) on the HPR-55 board with the PCIe interface.
At the same time, the CPU board DMA-transfers the data saved in the DDR memory to the USB3.0 HOST controller
IC (IC201) on the DIO-100 board with the PCIe interface and writes the data to the external device.
Copying external USB3.0 device data to the disc
Upon a DMA request from the CPU board, data is read from the external USB3.0 device through the USB3.0 HOST
controller IC (IC201) on the DIO-100 board. The read data is DMA-transferred to the DDR memory on the CPU board
with the PCIe interface.
At the same time, the CPU board DMA-transfers the data saved in the DDR memory to the PCIe / SATA Bridge IC
(IC2701) on the HPR-55 board with the PCIe interface and then converts the data to the SATA signal data. Then the
SATA signal data is sent through the CN-3594 board to the IF-1240 board.
