Network output
• Outputting disc data
Upon a DMA request from the CPU board, output data is read from the disc, and is then DMA-transferred to the
DDR memory on the CPU board in the reverse order of writing to the disc.
For both disc data and external USB3.0 device data, the output data stored in the DDR memory is DMA-transferred to
the Ethernet interface IC (IC600) on the SY-438 board through the PCIe interface and is converted. Then the converted
data is output from the network connector (CN600).
HDMI output
HD/SD playback video signals are sent from ROVO to VSW (IC801) on the VPR-118 board. Data for OSD is sent from
KMBC on the HPR-55 board to VSW.
The OSD data format is converted in VSW in accordance with the HDMI output format.
Then the OSD data is switched with HD/SD video signals, and is then sent to the HDMI TRANSMITTER (IC603) on
the VPR-118 board, in which the OSD data is converted to a serial signal together with the audio signal. Then the serial
signal is output from the HDMI connector CN3 on the VPR-118 board.

Audio Signal Processing System

Recording System
Analog audio input
The analog audio signals input from the AUDIO INPUT connector (CN100, CN200 and CN400
board) are converted into the serial digital audio signals (2-channel or 4-channel
*1
and IC1108
) on the AU-366 board, and then input into the FPGA (hereafter called VAX: IC200 and IC1108
HPR-55 board.
Digital audio (AES/EBU) input
The serial digital audio signals (4-channel) input from the AES/EBU IN connector (CN6/ADI-11 board) are level
converted in the line receiver (IC003/ADI-11 board) on the ADI-11 board, and then input into the DIR (IC010, IC011)
on the ADI-11 board. The 4-chanel digital audio signals are decoded in the DIR and are then input to the ROVO (IC300)
on the VPR-118 board. When the extended menu 815 is not selected, these signals are processed as AES/EBU input
signals.
The output signals from the DIR are input to the sampling rate converter (lC014, IC015) on the ADI-11 board. The
processed AES/EBU input signals are input to the ROVO as other AES/EBU input signals. When the extended menu
815 is selected, these signals are processed as AES/EUB signals.
SDSDI/HDSDI input
The digital audio signal included in the HDSDI signal input from the SD/HDSDI INPUT connector (CN1/VPR-118
board) is separated and extracted on the ROVO and then input into VAX on the HPR-55 board via the CN31/VPR-118
board.
The digital audio signal is separated and extracted in VAX in case of SDSDI input.
The above input signals input into VAX are selected with the AUDIO INPUT SEL button on the front panel for each
recording channel, multiplexed and sent to REC AUDIO DSP (IC1500/HPR-55 board). The REC AUDIO DSP (IC1500)
performs signal processing, such as delay processing, recording level control, and muting, and then sends the signal
back to VAX as the digital audio signal for recording. The returned data is multiplexed and sent from VAX to PIERe
(IC1200/HPR-55 board) as the digital audio signal for recording to be written into the PIERe SDRAM (IC1305 to
IC1308).
The proxy audio data for recording is compressed in the PROXY AUDIO DSP (IC1600, IC1601) based on the digital
audio signal for recording of the PIERe SDRAM to be written into the PIERe SDRAM as the proxy audio data for
recording.
