COMMUNICATION
Symptom:
*NO RESPONSE FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE
ATTEMPT TO COMMUNICATE WITH ANOTHER MODULE
FUSED (B+) CKT OPEN
OPEN GROUND CIRCUIT(S)
OPEN PCI BUS CIRCUIT
BODY CONTROL MODULE
TEST
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, attempt to communicate with the Airbag Control Module.
With the DRB, attempt to communicate with the Instrument Cluster.
Was the DRB able to I/D or communicate with both modules?
Yes → Go To 2
→ Refer to symptom list for problems related to the PCI Bus
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the BCM C1, C2, C3 and C4 harness connectors.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the Fused B+ circuits in the
BCM C1 harness connector and the IOD B+ circuit in the other BCM harness
connectors.
Is the test light illuminated for each circuit?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Repair the Fused B+ circuit for an open or short. Refer to the

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the BCM C1 and C2 harness connectors.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, probe the Ground circuits in the BCM
C1 and C2 harness connectors.
Is the test light illuminated for each circuit?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Repair the Ground circuit(s) for an open.
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
Communication Failure.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
