Symptom:

LEFT HIGH BEAM OUTPUT SHORT

When Monitored and Set Condition:
LEFT HIGH BEAM OUTPUT SHORT
When Monitored: Output is ON to OFF transition.
Set Condition: When Output is ON to OFF transition and voltage is detected low at
output for less then 50 micros seconds.
INTERMITTENT CONDITION
LEFT HIGH BEAM OUTPUT SHORTED
HIGH BEAM HEADLAMP
BODY CONTROL MODULE
TEST
1
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII , clear all BCM DTC's.
Actuate the High Beams.
With the DRBIII , read the DTC information.
Does the DRBIII read: Left High Beam Output Short?
Yes → Go To 2
→ The condition that caused the symptom is currently not present.
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Left High Beam Headlamp connector.
Disconnect the BCM C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between the Left High Beam Output circuit and ground.
Is the resistance below 100.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the Left High Beam Output circuit for a short to ground.
→ Go To 3
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
Inspect the related wiring for a possible intermittent condition.
Look for any chafed, pierced,pinched, or partially broken wires.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
