Symptom:
BCM - ACCESSORY RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO
GROUND
When Monitored and Set Condition:

BCM - ACCESSORY RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND

When Monitored: When the ignition is in the Accessory or Run position.
Set Condition: The Body Control Module supplies the ignition output to the radio and the
accessory relay. If the radio or accessory relay current draw is beyond the prescribed
current limit for over 125 ms, this code will set.
DTC PRESENT
ACCESSORY RELAY COIL
RADIO
ACCESSORY RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND.
BODY CONTROL MODULE
TEST

With the DRBIII , erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from OFF to ON.
Turn the radio on.
With the DRBIII , read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII display ACCESSORY RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO
GROUND?
Yes → Go To 2
→ The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this
No

Remove the accessory relay from the PDC.
With the DRBIII , erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch from OFF to ON.
With the DRBIII , read DTCs.
Does the DRBIII display ACCESSORY RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORT TO
GROUND?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Replace the accessory relay.
No
