TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING
Symptom:

TPM MODULE INITIALIZED - BCM

When Monitored and Set Condition:
TPM MODULE INITIALIZED - BCM
When Monitored: Ignition OFF to ON transition.
Set Condition: When the BCM input from the TPM Module does not go low for 1.75 to 3
seconds after ignition switch is ON.
INTERMITTENT CONDITION
FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN/START) CIRCUIT OPEN
GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
LOW TIRE PRESSURE SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
LOW TIRE PRESSURE SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
LOW TIRE PRESSURE SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN
TPM MODULE INTERNAL FAILURE
BCM INTERNAL FAILURE
TEST

Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII , read BCM and TPM Module DTCs.
Does the DRBIII display TPM MODULE INITIALIZED?
Yes → Go To 2
→ Go To 8
No

Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the TPM Module harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the voltage of the Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run/Start) circuit in the
TPM Module connector.
Is the voltage above 10 volts?
Yes → Go To 3
→ Repair the Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run/Start) circuit for
No
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ACTION
an open.
Perform TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM VERIFICA-
TION TEST.
