TEST
1
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
Measure the voltage between the Ignition Switch Sense circuit and ground.
Is the voltage above 5.00 volts?
Yes → Repair the Ignition Switch Sense circuit for a short to voltage.
No
2
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Ignition Switch Sense circuit between the BCM C4
connector and the Ignition Switch connector.
Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the Ignition Switch Sense circuit for an open.
No
3
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Ignition Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the BCM C4 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Ignition Switch Sense Return circuit between the BCM
C4 connector and the Ignition Switch connector.
Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the Sense Return circuit for an open.
