Connecting the power supply

Information on the procedure as well as on the connecting
cable and current consumption can be found in the manual
"CP System, installation and commissioning".
Warning
Use only power units which guarantee reliable electrical
isolation of the voltage supplies in accordance with
IEC 742/EN 60742/VDE 0551 with at least 4 kV isolation
resistance (Protected Extra-Low Voltage, PELV). Switch
power packs are permitted providing they guarantee reli-
able isolation in accordance with EN 60950/VDE 0805.
Remark:
By using PELV power units with Festo valve terminals, you can
ensure protection against electric shock (protection against
direct and indirect contact) in accordance with EN 60204-1/
IEC 204.
For supplying power to PELV networks, you should use safety
transformers with the symbol shown here. The valve terminal
must be earthed in order to guarantee the operation of cer-
tain functions (e.g. EMC).
Please note
Check within the framework of your EMERGENCY STOP
circuit to ascertain the measures which are required for
putting your machine/system in a safe state in the event of
an EMERGENCY STOP (e.g. switching off the load voltage
for the valves and output modules, switching off the pres-
sure).
