Calibration Procedure
This section is intended to verify the calibration of the Model 515. Th
done by connecting the monitor to the TB500A sensor simulator. The TB5
simulates various saturation levels at different signal strengths along
faulty probe conditions. The TB500A is the only acceptable method of verif
the accuracy of the Model 515 Pulse Oximeter and is available through
Novametrix Service Department.
The following procedure assumes that the monitor is set to its fac
default parameters. This can be accomplished by simultaneously pressing
alert reset
key and the
POWER
key until the monitor powers up.

and will then operate in normal mode. If the unit is not set to its factory del
.settings then alerts may not be triggered at the appropriate times in
procedure, the remainder of the procedure should still apply.

Equipment Required
1. Line cord PN: 600026
2. TB500A Sensor Simulator modified for use with Model 515
(with SupcrBrighl™ adaptor cable, available from Novametrix Service
Dept.)

Verify the rear panel power entry module is set to the correct voltage.

Connect the line cord to the rear panel of the monitor. Plug the line cord into
appropriate outlet. Place the switch on the power entry module to the I pr
tion.

Verify the green ~ LED on the front panel is illuminated. Press the
POW
button, verify the monitor passes the self tests and displays "CONNECT 87
PROBE".
