Chapter 4 Maintenance
• Do not turn off the main power supply. Turning off the main power supply will disable the
automatic maintenance function (including the nozzle clogging prevention function and ink
discharge channel cleaning function) and may result in printing defects (such as nozzle clogging
and deflection) or other faults.
• Do not leave media loaded on the platen. This may leave irregularities or ripples in the media.
• When this product is not in use, raise the clamp lever to separate the pinch rollers from the grid
rollers. If the pinch rollers are left in the lowered position for an extended period of time, they
may become deformed, possibly preventing the media from being fed correctly.
• Perform the following if the "Check Waste Ink Tank" message appears on the display.
"Waste Ink Tank Replacement"(P. 108)

White Ink Maintenance

White ink is more easily sedimented than other ink colors. If ink is sedimented, the ink density may become
uneven.

White Ink Maintenance

Perform maintenance as follows if the product is not used for one week or longer:
• Be sure to close the front cover. Ink stirring starts.

Shake the white ink Ink bottle.

Close the front cover.

In LOCAL mode screen, select [MENU] > [Maintenance], then press the [ENTER] key.
• The Maintenance menu is displayed.

Select [White Maintenance], then press the [ENTER] key.

Remove the media, then press the [ENTER] key.
