•Never charge batteries under covered vehicles as any build-up
of petrol fumes or leaked hydrogen gases may ignite.
•During the charging process, make sure that the room is
suffi ciently ventilated.
•Do not use the device in closed facilities with lead-acid
batteries. These batteries vent explosive hydrogen gas which
can be ignited by sparks on the electrical connections.
•If used incorrectly (wrong battery type, wrong voltage range
or reversed polarity and simultaneous failure of the charger's
protective devices), the battery may be overcharged and
destroyed. In the worst case, the battery may explode and
cause considerable damage as a result.
•The charger must not be used if it is not functioning properly
(smoke, a burning smell, battery becomes hotter than usual,
audible crackling sounds, discoloration of the charger or
adjoining surfaces).
WARNING!
Danger for children and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental abilities (e.g. partially disabled persons,
elderly persons with reduced physical and mental abilities) or
lack of experience and knowledge!
•Do not leave the packaging material lying around. It could
become a dangerous toy for children. Therefore, dispose of
packaging material that is no longer required, or store it in a
place that is not accessible to children. Risk of suffocation!
•Do not let children or persons with restricted physical, sensory
or mental abilities or lack of experience and lack of knowledge
use or play with electrical devices without supervision.
Therefore, take particular care if there are children around.
•This device is not designed for use by persons (including
children) who have reduced physical, sensory or mental
abilities, or those with little experience or knowledge, unless
they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety
during use of the device.

IMPORTANT!
Risk of damage!
•Lay all cables in such a way that they do not become a trip
hazard and cannot become damaged. Make sure that the
charger and the cables are not damaged or crushed by closing
doors, covers on engine parts etc.
•Chargers and the connected rechargeable batteries must be
supervised and inspected at regular intervals.
•Make sure that no cables, terminals or items of clothing are
near moving or hot vehicle parts.
•Ensure that all the power consumers on the vehicle, e.g.
ignition, lights etc., are switched off.
•Avoid the following adverse conditions at the place of use
when the charger is in operation, being transported or in
storage: Moisture, extreme cold (< -15°C) or heat (> 45°C),
direct sun or proximity to hot air sources (such as radiators),
dust and combustible gases, steam, vapours and solvents,
heavy vibration, powerful magnetic fi elds (for example, in close
proximity to machines, motors and loudspeakers).
5.4 | Safety instructions – Handling of batteries
WARNING!
Risk of short-circuit!
•Never short-circuit the battery contacts.
•Prevent metallic parts from falling onto the battery, as they
can cause sparks or short-circuit the battery and other
electrical parts.
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
•When handling the battery and charger, do not wear any
conductive jewellery, such as chains, bracelets or rings.
